Jason Zehr currently serves as Executive Director of the Office of Renewable Energy Siting and Transmission at ORES where he is responsible for the management, administration, and coordination of the work of the Transmission Section of ORES, advising the Executive Director on issues related to policy, environmental review and permitting of major electric transmission facilities, and the transmission industry. 

Mr. Zehr also works with energy policy makers from other State agencies and authorities to implement the State’s energy policy goals. 

Prior to his role, Jason served as Chief, Transmission Siting at ORES, leading the transmission siting unit charged with the environmental review, permitting and compliance of major renewable energy generation and electric and gas transmission facilities in New York State under Article VII, Article VIII, and Article 10. 

He has 20 years of experience in land-use planning and management, environmental and regulatory compliance, power generation, transmission, and energy regulation in government and private sectors.
